DCist featured a Steptoe pro bono case led by partner John O'Connor in an October 5 article titled "Thousands Of DC Renters Are Evicted Every Year. Do They All Know To Show Up To Court?" Steptoe filed a federal lawsuit against a process server whose failure to properly serve tenants led to hundreds of improper evictions across the District of Columbia over the past several years. O'Connor's advocacy led to three favorable settlements for the clients, and alerted this process server and others like him that the justice system is on notice of their deceptive practices.
