Overview
(June 30, 2022 – Brussels) Steptoe associate Diletta De Cicco and partner Charles Helleputte have been named to the European Data Protection Board's (EDPB) Support Pool of Experts for the period 2022-2024. The EDPB is an independent EU body established by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and contributes to the consistent application of data protection rules and promotes cooperation among data protection authorities throughout the European Economic Area. The EDPB Support Pool of Experts is a key strategic initiative of the EDPB to help supervise and enforce the safeguarding of personal data.
Charles Helleputte heads Steptoe's EU cybersecurity, data, and privacy practice. Both he and Diletta advise clients on existing EU and national cybersecurity, data, and privacy laws, such as the network and information systems Directive (NIS Directive), GDPR or the Cybersecurity Act and on upcoming developments such as NIS 2, DORA, the Artificial Intelligence Act, or the ePrivacy Regulation.
