Eight Countries Launch Compliance Program: Today, eight members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Forum on Tax Administration (FTA)—Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States—launched a pilot for the voluntary International Compliance Assurance Programme (ICAP). According to a press release, ICAP “will use CbC reports and other information to facilitate open and co-operative multilateral engagements between MNE groups and tax administrations, with a view to providing early tax certainty and assurance.”
Trump Announces Tax Court Nominee: President Trump has announced his intent to nominate Courtney Dunbar Jones as a judge on the US Tax Court. Jones currently serves as a senior attorney in the Tax-Exempt and Government Entities division in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service.
