IRS Extends Arbitrage Overpayment Claim Deadline: Today, the IRS issued Revenue Procedure 2017-50, extending the deadline for tax-exempt bond issuers to claim arbitrage rebates, penalty payments in lieu of rebates, and yield reduction payments. The rule adds 60 days to the existing two-year deadline under I.R.C. § 148, and applies to pending claims or claims filed on or after August 25.
