Overview
(May 1, 2020, Washington, DC) — Steptoe & Johnson LLP associate Judy Wang has joined the 2020 Pathfinders Program for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). As a pathfinder, Wang will participate in a program designed by the LCLD to train high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession. The LCLD Pathfinder Program has trained nearly 700 early-career attorneys since 2015, catering to junior lawyers in law firms and corporate legal departments who have demonstrated potential to become future leaders in the legal profession.
According to LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr., the program offers participants "intensive in-person training, online experiential learning, and opportunities to network with peers and esteemed LCLD fellows and alumni in small group gatherings. We believe it's a program that can help catapult a person's career forward."
At Steptoe, Wang focuses her practice on international trade and investment as well as international regulation and compliance. She represents companies across various industries on all aspects of antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings before the US Department of Commerce, the US International Trade Commission, and US courts. Wang also counsels clients on trade issues arising out of bilateral and multilateral relationships with various US trading partners to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and the World Trade Organization, and customs matters with US Customs and Border Protection.
Wang earned an LL.M. in international criminal law from the University of Amsterdam and her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she served as a notes editor for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. Wang received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University where she was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
