On June 25, 2024, Law360 featured the Steptoe team representing client, Barrick Gold, in an article titled, "Split DC Circ. Backs Bush-Era Mining Deregulation." The article discusses the decision of a divided DC Circuit panel to uphold a mining regulation. The regulation removes limits on land usage near a mining site for secondary operations, including waste disposal. The panel ruled in favor of Steptoe clients.
