On December 5, 2023 Law360 quoted Boyd Cloern in an article titled, "7th Circ. Signals Issue With $540M Motorola Trade Secret Win." The article discusses how Seventh Circuit judges reviewing Motorola's $540 million win in a mobile radio trade secret case suggested that part of the verdict might come undone.
Speaking about the verdict Cloern said, "the award's extraterritoriality would be appropriate if someone at Hytera engaged in an act within the US that led to the company's foreign mobile radio sales, but here there's not evidence of such an act."
