Overview
Law360 quoted Lisa Zarlenga in a February 15 article titled “Axing Deadwood Tax Regs of Little Use to Businesses.” The article discusses how the Trump administration’s deregulatory agenda may be marginally helped by the Treasury Department’s latest proposal to get rid of nearly 300 obsolete tax regulations.
Ms. Zarlenga, co-chair of the firm’s Tax practice, says that Treasury’s cleanup effort isn’t entirely unusual. Decluttering is necessary and the department undertakes this task “on a fairly regular basis,” she adds. “This administration certainly has put a priority on reducing regulations and while these regulations are mostly obsolete, it is consistent with that priority.”
