Law360 quoted Steve Davidson in an article titled, "Zimbabwe Urges Justices To Pass On $50M Award Suit." The article discusses our client's petition to the US Supreme Court for review of a DC Circuit decision. Zimbabwe has urged the Supreme Court not to review a DC Circuit ruling that preserved its sovereign immunity against enforcement of a $50 million arbitral award.
Speaking to Law360 about Zimbabwe's assertion that the question is too narrow and unimportant for the Supreme Court Davidson said: "This is an issue of significant impression, as suggested in our brief and the amici's brief. The Zambian judgment has been recognized in Canada, and we will continue to seek to enforce it in other jurisdictions until paid."
The petition is likely to be decided by the Supreme Court in April.
