On October 12, 2023, Law360 spoke to partner Michael Boucher about his move to Steptoe in an article titled "Steptoe & Johnson Adds Crowell & Moring Enviro Law Partner." Michael joined Steptoe in early October. His practice focuses on representing corporations in enforcement actions from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other state and federal regulators — helping those clients respond to subpoenas, citizen suits and citizen petitions.
Speaking about his move to Steptoe, Boucher said: "My interactions up to now have all been positive, and most of the clients that I've spoken with about the move have also heard of Steptoe and either were already working with Steptoe on something, or just otherwise know about the firm and had a positive impression of it, so I was really pleased by that,” he added, "[There's] a lot more focus, I think, in terms of public policy on chemicals concern, environmental impacts, endangered species, PFAS, endocrine disruption, there just seem to be more and more issues. Including the international aspect as well where, Steptoe is I think very well positioned to see issues coming towards the U.S. from say, Europe…"
