Overview
On January 10, 2023, Law360 spoke with Tod Cohen for their piece titled, "Steptoe & Johnson Hires Ex-Twitter Atty From O'Melveny." The piece discusses Cohen’s previous work experience at Twitter, StubHub Inc., and eBay Inc., along with his move to Steptoe.
Regarding his experience in the internet, telecom and media realm, Cohen said: "The fast growth and the promise of the internet has caught up much more with the reality. No one ever expected that identity and the use of Russian bots would have so much impact as it did to Twitter and then Facebook during the 2016 elections, and the ability to manipulate things on the internet by state actors was certainly something nobody anticipated. So the reality of what the internet is has really been reflected in the changes to internet law over time."
Law360 also featured a statement from chair, Gwen Renigar about the addition of Cohen: "Tod's wealth of experience advising many of the top technology companies on their internet law and global policy matters fits perfectly in our government affairs and public policy practice, and will allow us to continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients as they navigate the changing landscape across the globe."
