Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry interviewed Steptoe partner Anne-Gabrielle Haie to discuss what's next now that the European Parliament and European Commission have formally adopted the Artificial Intelligence Act. She spoke to the publication about what medtech and other industries can expect from the Act in 2025.
On the EU AI Act's impact across various industries, Haie said: "There is noticeable anxiety across various industries due to the legal uncertainty stemming from the numerous unclear concepts within the AI Act. Organizations are struggling to determine whether they fall within the scope of the Act and to understand their subsequent obligations. The onerous obligations set by the AI Act create a sense of being overwhelmed, as compliance presents several challenges."
