Neue Zürcher Zeitung, a German-language Swiss newspaper, cited Simon Hirsbrunner in an article discussing the series of defeats of the European Commission in EU state aid cases before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the EU. In particular, Hirsbrunner highlights how the courts have become stricter, stating that "there is a harsher examination than in the past."
