Steptoe white-collar partner Reid Weingarten was interviewed on NPR's "Morning Edition" on June 4. In the interview, and an accompanying article titled "When Politics, Prosecution Collide: Veteran Lawyer Calls Current State 'Disturbing,'" Weingarten discusses his 44-year legal career in which he has sent lawmakers to prison and investigated allegations that a presidential campaign – in 1992 – conspired with a foreign adversary to help its own election prospects. He now defends Cabinet secretaries, governors and members of Congress, and gives advice to presidents from both political parties.
"I am very proud to say that I have dealt with, directly, every president since Jimmy Carter, and that includes the present president," Weingarten says.
