OECD Roundtables Held on Fiscal Relations: Today, a high-level roundtable was held with the Fifteenth Finance Commission in New Delhi, India. Discussion topics included revenue sharing arrangements with sub-national governments, equalization systems, public spending and incentives, fiscal targets, fiscal rules, and sub-national debt. Participants included experts from the OECD Secretariat and Fiscal Network delegates from several member countries. The agenda can be found here.
Global Forum Issues Tax Compliance Ratings for Nine Jurisdictions: Today, the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes published nine peer review reports assessing compliance with international standards on tax transparency. Estonia, France, Monaco, and New Zealand received overall ratings of “Compliant,” while the Bahamas, Belgium, and Hungary were rated “Largely Compliant.” Ghana was rated “Partially Compliant.” Additionally, a supplementary report attributed a “Largely Compliant” rating to Jamaica.
