Overview
(June 29, 2026, Washington, DC) – Steptoe of counsel Onika Williams was sworn in as President of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals (ATLP) at the organization’s 97th annual meeting held in Baltimore, Maryland. Onika has previously served as Treasurer and Vice President.
Founded in 1929, ATLP is an independent nonprofit organization that brings together legal practitioners, academics, and industry leaders to explore new developments, exchange ideas, and network. In addition to helping its members maintain high standards of professional practice and conduct, ATLP is committed to providing opportunities for continued educational development in transportation law and practice. ATLP's mission is to equip its members with tools to be vital resources in the global transportation and logistics marketplace. The annual meeting consisted of discussions with a multi-modal focus on timely legal issues and networking opportunities.
Onika advises clients on compliance and enforcement matters before a range of federal regulatory agencies and represents clients in disputes before the Surface Transportation Board (STB). She brings valuable insight from her prior role as a legal advisor in the STB's Office of Proceedings, where she handled matters arising under the ICC Termination Act of 1995. Her experience also includes serving as a Law Clerk at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where she supported adjudications under the Atomic Energy Act.
