Overview
Zachary Simmons authored the article "Other-Than-Industry Representation on Industry Trade Advisory Committees" in Volume 31, Issue 2 of the Pacific Basin Law Journal. This article, published during the midst of ongoing negotiations over the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), explores the basic mechanisms of trade policy formulation in the United States and, specifically, the involvement of other-than-industry actors in crafting Washington's positions in international trade negotiations. The article examines Obama Administration proposals to increase the involvement of other-than-industry actors in the trade policy formulation process, and proposes additional avenues for heightened involvement by these actors.
