The May 2022 article addresses the importance of consulting both the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control’s (OFAC) regulations and Commerce’s Export Administration Regulations (EAR) as part of a comprehensive sanctions compliance effort especially as recent actions against Russia increasingly blur the line between export controls administered by the US Commerce Department and sanctions administered by OFAC.
