Overview
The CFTC filed an enforcement action yesterday in the Southern District against Jon Corzine, the former New Jersey Senator and Governor, for having overseen MF Global at the time it wrongfully used approximately $1 billion in customer funds in attempt to stave off a liquidity crisis. MF Global is a named defendant, but, according to the CFTC’s press release, has agreed to settle. Also named is MF Global’s former Assistant Treasurer Edith O’Brien. A judge has not yet been assigned.
