As we reported last week, parties seeking an extension from Judge Forrest should not assume that a joint request agreed upon by the parties will be granted. Today, Judge Forrest again denied a joint request for an extension, this time for an extension to the Court's scheduling order in the well-publicized dispute between Julie Taymor and the production company that hired her to direct the Spiderman broadway musical. The requested extension would have significantly pushed back deadlines for fact and expert discovery, dispositive motions and the trial. In her endorsement of the letter request, Judge Forrest wrote: "Request for extension DENIED. This schedule will not work. The parties are to appear at a conference to discuss scheduling on August 30 at 1:30 p.m."
