Some Intel on BIS’s New Military-Intelligence End Use Rule

Jack Hayes and Nick Turner have authored an article for Export Compliance Manager titled "Some Intel on BIS's New Military-Intelligence End Use Rule." The March 2021 article addresses the addition of the new military-intelligence end uses/end users ("MIEU") rule under the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR"). Different from the MEU rule, the new MIEU rule prohibits the export, reexport, and in-country transfer of any items subject to the EAR to users engaged in intelligence activities for the militaries of certain countries.
