(October 3, 2024, Washington, DC) – Steptoe has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2023-2024. Mansfield is a year-long structured certification process designed to ensure all talent at our firm has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. By asking that at least 30% of our talent pools considered for leadership roles consist of underrepresented groups and that our advancement processes are transparent, Mansfield creates a level playing field for all.
To achieve our Plus designation, we voluntarily provided data to Diversity Lab to show our progress and outcomes of our efforts to broaden talent pools and increase the visibility of our advancement processes. This transparency allows us and Diversity Lab to celebrate progress and to identify areas with continued opportunities for improvement. Mansfield’s methodology, which has proven to build more diverse leadership teams, is rooted in changes to systems and processes, not exclusivity or discrimination. Mansfield ensures that opportunities for advancement are inclusive by broadening talent pools instead of instilling quotas, set-asides, or requirements unrelated to an individual's qualifications.
