(June 14, 2021, Washington, DC) — Steptoe has again received the Beacon of Justice Award from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA). The honor is bestowed on law firms for their work to promote equal justice. At a ceremony held June 9, this year’s awardees were honored for their 2020 pro bono work addressing systemic racial disparities.
"The Beacon of Justice Award has inspired Steptoe to enhance our commitment to pro bono work that advances racial justice," said Steptoe deputy pro bono counsel Harmony Jones. "This year, we have increased our pro bono work and financial support of efforts to achieve racial equity in the law.
