Overview
Steptoe received a 100% rating in the 16th edition of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index. According to the report, large law firms did even better than last year--and considerably better than Fortune 500 companies--in the HRC’s 2018 assessment of LGBTQ workplace equality.
The corporate equality index rating is based on factors such as: prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation for all operations; offers equivalent spousal and partner “soft” benefits; firm-wide organizations competency programs; and positively engages the external LGBTQ community. Firms that didn’t get perfect scores were most often dinged for failure to provide transgender-inclusive insurance.
