Steptoe & Johnson LLP has received the 2015 John Carroll Society Pro Bono Legal Service Award. The John Carroll Society, an organization of Catholic professionals, recognizes the pro bono legal work of individuals and law firms through the Catholic Charities Legal Network. Steptoe has been honored with the 2015 award for addressing the legal needs of the poor in the Archdiocese of Washington.
The award was given on October 4 at the society’s annual brunch following the Red Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. The Red Mass is celebrated annually on the Sunday before the first Monday in October, which marks the opening of the Supreme Court’s term, to invoke God’s blessings on those responsible for the administration of justice as well as on all public officials.
