Overview
(June 2, 2023, Washington, DC) – Steptoe is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as a platinum-level donor in D.C. Access to Justice's 2022 Raising the Bar Campaign. The platinum-level is the top tier of the campaign which honors firms that have donated at least .11% of D.C. office revenue toward DC-based legal services providers. In 2022, firms donated a record $7.3 million to organizations that serve low-income District residents with legal needs. The Raising the Bar campaign launched in 2010, setting a standard for area law firms to aspire to when giving to civil legal services organizations.
Pro Bono partner and member of the D.C. Access to Justice Commission, Paul Lee, spoke to Law360 Pulse about the importance of the Raising the Bar Campaign: "We all know that the legal industry did not suffer during the pandemic. As law firms do better, we should be giving back more… We want to make sure that we don't forget about the community that's closest to us."
