Tax Notes quoted Eric Solomon in a March 23 article titled "Senate's Bill Aids Troubled Companies Pending Amended Returns." The article discusses how the Senate Republicans' proposed bill in response to the coronavirus crisis could provide more immediate relief for companies with losses from prior years, but that depends on how quickly amended tax returns are completed and processed.
Solomon says the most important thing is trying to get cash and "keep cash in the hands of businesses that are struggling, and that seems to be a theme in some of the business provisions."
