On October 12, 2023, The National Law Journal quoted senior manager of diversity, equity & inclusion, Maya Brown, in an article titled "Here Are The DC Firms That Are Mansfield Certified." Steptoe is among a number of Washington, DC firms that recently achieved Mansfield Certification.
Maya said that Steptoe's Certification is reflective of the firms "long-standing efforts to recruit, hire, retain and promote lawyers from diverse backgrounds and to weave their experiences into the fabric of the firm." She added: "Excellence in the practice of law knows no racial, ethnic, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, disability, religious or other such boundaries."
