Steptoe partner Lisa Zarlenga and of counsel Cameron Arterton authored an op-ed for The Hill titled “The Treatment of Passthrough Entities Will Play Critical Role in 2017 Tax Reform.” The op-ed, published on October 14, discusses Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s tax plans. The candidates’ tax plans differ substantially and one issue that will be central to any movement on tax reform next year is the treatment of passthrough entities, such as partnerships, S corporations, and LLCs, which are common structures of most small businesses.
