On July 10, 2023, The Washington Post quoted Don Sternfeld in an article titled, "Employees want ChatGPT at work. Bosses worry they'll spill secrets." The article discusses security and privacy fears surrounding AI. Many corporations, including law firms, are still in the process of defining policies for employee use of ChatGPT.
While there are many benefits of GPT technology, Sternfeld discussed the cautionary tales of using it without a system of checks and balances in place. He said: "ChatGPT is trained to give you an answer, even when it doesn't know." For example, he asked the chatbot: Who was the first person to walk across the English Channel? The response was a convincing account of a fictional person completing an impossible task.
