Overview
Steptoe associate Nick Silverman was profiled by Bloomberg Law for their feature titled, "They've Got Next: Five Fresh Faces to Know in White Collar." Nick was recognized for spearheading post-trial efforts that culminated in the discovery of exculpatory evidence and the defendant's post-conviction exoneration in United States v. Ali Sadr Hashemi Nejad. The suppression of evidence in that case has since been cited by judges in admonishing prosecutors to adhere to disclosure obligations.
"He was the heart and soul of our team in crafting the ongoing demands for evidence we submitted to the government, after the trial was over, that led to one disclosure after another," said Steptoe partner Brian Heberlig, who co-led the team defending Sadr. "We briefed a very extensive motion for acquittal and new trial in the alternative and Nick was the key man on the team for that job as well."
"They've Got Next," spotlights young lawyers who are raising the bar in various practice groups. The full profile can be read at Bloomberg Law.
