Overview
Weltwoche quoted Simon Hirsbrunner in a March 28 article titled “Last Resort.” The article examines the reception that the European Court of Justice (CJEU) would likely reserve for Switzerland if the country were to submit to its jurisdiction, as is currently envisaged in Swiss-EU negotiations on a future institutional framework agreement.
Hirsbrunner, who represented the Swiss Confederation in a dispute before the CJEU, says that “the country is not used to engaging in litigation before international courts. It would have to adjust to a significant increase in the number of such international judicial disputes.”
