Overview
(December 18, 2024, Hong Kong) – Steptoe LLP is pleased to announce that China's leading legal industry publication, the China Business Law Journal (CBLJ), has named Hong Kong managing partner Wendy Wysong to the CBLJ's "A-List" in the "Visionaries" category for 2024–25. The CBLJ invited corporate counsel and executives from Chinese and global businesses, partners from Chinese and international law firms, and legal experts across diverse industries to nominate attorneys for this honor. Lawyers were not allowed to nominate themselves or colleagues practicing at the same firm, and the evaluation process is free of charge.
A-List Visionaries are described as: "seasoned legal luminaries who have distinguished themselves both within and beyond their firms. In key management positions of founders, managing partners or heads of practice areas, they excel in their profession and develop sharp industry insight to steer their firms' strategic growth."
Wendy is the managing partner of Steptoe's Hong Kong office and global co-leader of the Investigations and White-Collar Defense practice group. She focuses her practice on regulatory compliance and white-collar defense of international laws, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), US sanctions laws and regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and US anti-boycott laws, as well as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). She represents clients throughout the United States and Asia, particularly regarding issues arising from the various US government "blacklists."
