House Passes Tax Cuts and Jobs Act: Today, the House voted 227-205 to pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1), with 13 Republicans joining Democrats in voting against the bill. Chairman Brady (R-TX) said in a statement “This vote is a big step forward – but it is not the last step. We will continue to strengthen this legislation and, working with the Senate, we will put tax reform on the President’s desk by the end of the year for the first time in 31 years.”
Joint Committee Releases Analysis of Chairman’s Modification: The Joint Committee on Taxation released an analysis of the distribution effects of the Senate Finance Committee Chairman’s modification to the Chairman’s mark of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
