Evan Glassman is a partner in the New York office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Litigation Department.

Mr. Glassman represents clients in state and federal courts, before regulators, and in private arbitrations.  His practice focuses on all areas of commercial litigation, for both plaintiffs and defendants, and on white-collar criminal and regulatory investigations.  Mr. Glassman’s clients include major corporations and their executives, non-profits, accountants, and other professionals.

Significant commercial matters have included:

• The successful prosecution of trademark infringement and gray market actions on behalf of the North American licensee of a world famous Swiss watchmaker.
• The defense of a major cigarette manufacturer in two antitrust actions that were dismissed following successful motions for summary judgment.
• The representation of a well-known mystery anthologist in an action involving trademark and breach of contract claims that resulted in a favorable jury verdict for more than $2.8 million.
• The defense of a former CEO of a major insurance company in multiple civil and regulatory actions. 

Mr. Glassman’s recent white-collar defense engagements include the representation of a key witness in a large tax shelter investigation and the internal investigation of a major non-profit organization relating to embezzlement by a former employee.
