Overview
Charisma Nguepdo focuses her practice on commercial litigation, representing clients in complex disputes involving breach of contract, intellectual property, consumer protection, and tort claims.
Prior to joining Steptoe, Charisma served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alfred H. Bennett of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Charisma earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Houston Law Review, becoming the first African American student to hold the role. She was also president of the Black Law Students Association and a fellow in the Legal Writing Center. Before law school, she was a member of the 2015 Teach for America Corps.

- Defending an oil and gas company in a breach of contract arbitration.
- Represented a media and entertainment metadata company in a copyright infringement dispute against an artificial intelligence company.
- Defended a multinational retail corporation in a negligent security and negligent training lawsuit.
- Represented a class of vehicle owners in a lawsuit against the vehicles’ manufacturer for breaching various states’ laws requirement to extend warranties by the number of days the vehicle was under repair.
