Overview
Elodie advises clients on EU and GB regulatory matters including in relation to chemicals (REACH), biocides (BPR), classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals (CLP), persistent organic pollutants (POPs), packaging, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), ROHS, cosmetics, single-use plastics, microplastics and waste. She has a particular interest in product compliance at EU and GB levels and the regulation of PFAS.
She has experience in managing pan-European environmental projects and in carrying out environmental, health & safety (EHS) and food safety due diligence on corporate entities.
Elodie has also assisted clients with responding to the Environment Agency following service of civil penalty notices under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and fluorinated greenhouse gas legislation in England.
Prior to joining Steptoe, Elodie worked at an international law firm in Manchester, UK.

Areas of Work
Representative Matters
- Advising a global chemical manufacturer on the regulatory status of UV-328 under EU/GB REACH and the EU/GB POPs Regulation.
- Advising a global materials company on the scope of the restriction of PFHxA under EU REACH and its potential impacts on the company’s supply chain.
- Advising a retailer on the enforcement of the EU Deforestation Regulation in specific Member States.
- Liaising with national competent authorities on behalf of clients in the context of EU BPR applications (major change application, active substance approval etc.).
- Advised a GB manufacturer of PFOA-containing firefighter protective clothing in connection with the expiry of a PFOA derogation under the GB POPs Regulation.
- Advised a formulator and supplier of mosquito repellent products on the impacts of a change in the classification of a chemical substance under EU/GB CLP on the CLP classification of a mixture containing that substance and on the practical changes needed to the products’ labels and SDS to ensure compliance with CLP and REACH.
