Overview
Sara Morse is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on commercial litigation and white-collar defense. She represents corporate and individual clients in all aspects of civil litigation – from case initiation through trial – as well as in criminal and internal investigations.
Sara also maintains an active pro bono practice. Her recent significant matters include representing an individual facing sentencing for federal tax fraud and a federal inmate navigating the Federal Bureau of Prisons grievance process.

Representative Matters
Civil Litigation
- Represent Chinese technology company in civil trade secret litigation in US District Court for the Northern District of California.
- Represent global energy company as plaintiff in New York State Court in claims for fraud and tortious interference in connection with a contract to construct a power plant.
- Represented the University of San Francisco in Title IX class action in US District Court for the Northern District of California and defeated plaintiffs’ motion for class certification.
White-Collar Defense
- Represent audit firm in connection with an SEC investigation of its audit client, a public company, regarding an inquiry into the company’s restatements and related material weakness determinations.
- Represented individual defendant charged with health care fraud related to submission of millions of dollars’ worth of fraudulent claims to Medi-Cal in criminal litigation in US District Court for the Central District of California.
- Represented health insurance agency in civil False Claims Act investigation by DOJ stemming from a qui tam action alleging fraudulent claims to Medi-Cal and Medicare.
Pro Bono
- Represented individual in tax fraud sentencing in US District Court for the Central District of California.
- Represented incarcerated individual in Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) grievance filings under BOP’s Administrative Remedy Procedures.
