Overview
Sharon K. Brown focuses her practice on litigation in the financial services industry. She has litigated all phases.
Sharon has defended various claims, ranging from lender liability, unfair competition and predatory lending, to wrongful foreclosure and federal lending laws. She has significant experience working on complex questions arising under the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Additionally, Sharon has experience advising on issues involving HIPAA, privacy, subrogation and reimbursement.
In addition, Sharon serves in leadership roles in a number of professional and non-profit organizations. She serves as a board member of Pathways to Law at Santa Monica College, as a paralegal advisory board member at West Los Angeles College, and is a volunteer at Reading to Kids in Los Angeles. Sharon is also a member of Literary Sisters West and the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc.
