Overview
(October 7, 2024, Brussels) – Steptoe partner Anne-Gabrielle Haie has been appointed an independent expert in the European Commission's expert group in charge of drafting the first General-purpose AI Code of Practice.
The Code of Practice will detail the EU AI Act rules for providers of general-purpose AI models and General-Purpose AI (GPAI) models with systemic risks. The Code of Practice will address transparency and copyright-related rules for all general-purpose AI models as well as a systemic risk taxonomy, risk assessment and mitigation measures. Providers should be able to rely on the Code of Practice to demonstrate compliance with the EU AI Act. The Code of Practice is expected to be finalized by April 2025.
