Overview
Bloomberg BNA quoted Micah Green in an article titled “CFTC Chairman’s Europe Trip Could Set Stage for Swaps Agreement.” The article, published September 11, explains why Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo isn’t expected to reach any new agreements during a 10-day trip to meet regulatory counterparts in Europe. Some say an equivalence pact on swap execution rules might be in the offing.
Mr. Green, who heads the firm’s cross-disciplinary financial services practice, says that as a commissioner for more than two years and then as acting chairman, “you see him setting out a standard on policy but working with his fellow commissioners and other regulators. And I think you’ll see him want to work with international regulators much the same way.”
