(September 12, 2024, Washington, DC) – Steptoe partner Brigida Benitez has been appointed as general counsel of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). In this role, Brigida will provide advice and counsel to the HNBA President, Executive Committee, and Board of Governors.
The Hispanic National Bar Association is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of over 78,000+ Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students, and legal professionals in the United States and its territories. Since 1972, the HNBA has acted as a force for positive change within the legal profession by creating opportunities for Hispanic lawyers and by helping generations of lawyers to succeed.
Brigida’s practice at Steptoe focuses on complex civil litigation, internal investigations, and global anti-corruption issues. She draws on more than 30 years of experience representing clients in high-stakes, complex matters and helping them solve challenging problems that stem from business disputes, compliance issues, and employee misconduct. Brigida has represented a wide range of clients, including financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, universities, international development firms, and individuals, as well as boards of directors and special litigation committees of public company boards. Brigida also serves as the firm’s general counsel.
