Overview
Commercial Risk Europe quoted Guy Soussan and Jack Hayes in an article titled "Iranian Sanction Outlook Evokes Cautious Optimism." The article, published in the September issue of the magazine, explains that businesses must be cautious in assessing business opportunities in Iran following the recent international agreement to lift sanctions over the country's nuclear plans.
Mr. Soussan explains the EU developments: "The EU is talking of full removal of sanctions and will repeal all sanctions for EU companies and individuals. European companies are already looking at business opportunities [...]. Even if the EU lifts sanctions against Iran, brokers and insurers will need to exercise caution and carry out due diligence." Mr. Hayes adds that "Sanctions will not be lifted until 'implementation day,' and until then there is no roll-back of sanctions against Iran. Even then sanctions are not being revoked and could be reinstated at any time during the eight-year-long agreement."
