Overview
(September 18, 2019, Los Angeles) — The Daily Journal has named Steptoe Los Angeles co-managing partner Robyn Crowther to its 2019 list of the "Top 100 Lawyers" in California. Crowther has considerable first-chair trial and arbitration experience in a variety of litigation areas, including commercial, employment, copyright and trademark work. She was selected for this recognition by the Daily Journal for her work over the past year leading three different teams, one in a jury trial, and the other two in FINRA arbitrations.
In the jury trial, Crowther, serving as first-chair for an all-female trial team, secured a victory for Positron Systems Inc. in a multimillion dollar case asserting tortious interference, misappropriation of trade secrets and other claims against Wyle Labs. The jury found for Positron on causes of action for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, intentional interference and breach of contract and the judge found for Positron on equitable claims. At the conclusion of the trial, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rita Miller told both parties that it was the best tried case she has seen in her 14 years on the bench.
In addition to the Top 100 list, Crowther has been named to the Daily Journal's list of Top Women Lawyers in California 11 times in the past 12 years. The Los Angeles Business Journal named her to the "Top Litigators & Trial Lawyers" list in 2019, and the Most Influential Women Attorneys list in 2018.
