Overview
(June 20, 2024, Los Angeles) – Daily Journal has named California regional managing partner Robyn Crowther to its 2024 list of Top Women Lawyers in California. The annual award series recognizes the successes and victories of women lawyers in the courtroom and at the negotiating table, as well as their advancements in the legal industry.
Robyn is a trial lawyer focusing on commercial disputes. She represents individuals, multinational corporations, municipalities, and small businesses. She has experience in provisional and preliminary remedies, pleading attacks, and motions for summary adjudication and summary judgment. Clients rely on her strategic and trial skills across numerous practice areas when their matters call for a first-chair trial lawyer who uses all of the litigation tools to pursue favorable resolutions.
Robyn had five cases set for trial or arbitration in 2024 including a Proposition 65 matter which would have been one of the few to go to trial; a dispute over a lucrative family business involving claims for breach of contract, tortious interference and breach of fiduciary duty; and the defense of a public pharmaceutical company in a trade libel and defamation action involving cutting edge therapies. One of those matters settled five minutes before opening statements and the other shortly before the final status conference, and the other three remain in active litigation.
Robyn serves on the Board of Governors for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) where she is serving on the committee coordinate the 2024 Annual Seminar. She was a member of the Board of Governors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association from 2018 through 2021, and was a member of the Lawyers Committee hosting the meeting of the National Association of Women Judges in 2019. Robyn also served on the Board of Directors for Public Counsel, the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world. In addition to her client work, Robyn serves as a mentor to junior lawyers at Steptoe and supports them in their career, business development, pro bono and personal goals.
