On August 9, 2023, E&E News quoted partner Hunter Johnston in an article titled, "Biden updates Depression-era labor rules for green energy." The article discusses a Labor Department rule which will continue the Biden administration’s push to extend federal wage protections to workers in the clean energy industry as part of the Davis-Bacon Act.
Congress has been requiring companies to follow the Davis-Bacon Act rules on carbon capture projects since 2008. "Some construction and engineering companies may be unfamiliar with the Davis-Bacon rules, but that's unlikely to slow the growth of the industry,” said Hunter Johnston. "It's just too big of an opportunity; it’s driving a lot of investment right now."
