Overview
(September 10, 2024, New York) – Steptoe associate Evan Abrams has been appointed to the New York City Bar Association's Presidential Task Force on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies (Task Force) and its Subcommittee on Artificial Intelligence and National Security (Subcommittee). The primary mission of the Task Force is to create a Center of Excellence and Thought Leadership in artificial intelligence and digital technologies, including innovative technologies that create new or enhanced products and services, digital assets, and more efficient, convenient, and effective ways of doing business. The focus of the Subcommittee includes the use of artificial intelligence to combat corruption; cybercrime, including relevant cybersecurity and virtual currency considerations; foreign and domestic terrorist financing; fraud; transnational criminal organization activity; drug trafficking organization activity; human trafficking and human smuggling; and proliferation financing.
Evan Abrams advises financial institutions and multinationals on anti-money laundering, sanctions, export controls, anti-corruption, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, focusing on emerging and financial technology to align business goals with regulatory compliance.
