(July 17, 2025, Washington, DC) – Steptoe partner, Galen Kast, has been recognized by the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division as one of its 2025 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers.
The ABA's On the Rise program provides national recognition to young lawyers who exemplify excellence in professional achievement, innovation, leadership, and service to both the legal profession and their communities.
Galen counsels companies and individuals in high-stakes government enforcement matters, internal investigations, and civil litigation. He regularly represents clients in matters before the US Department of Justice, state attorneys general, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, from pre-enforcement investigations through trial and post-trial briefing. Galen has also conducted complex domestic and cross-border investigations in response to whistleblower complaints and internal corporate assessments. He further advises clients on internal compliance programs, from initial compliance program development in early-stage startups to large-scale compliance assessments at Fortune 500 companies.
Galen will be honored during the ABA's Annual Meeting in August.
