Indiana de Seze and Darren Abrahams authored an article titled “Harmonising the Process for Biocidal Products Authorisations” as part of their regular column for Chemical Watch’s Biocides Hub. The May 30 article analyses the attempt by the Commission and Competent Authorities to address delays observed in the process for the evaluation of biocidal product authorization applications submitted by industry. The Commission has proposed a way forward to address the issue; however, the Member States’ Competent Authorities have provided feedback with a wide range of differing views. Will a consensus be found between the Commission and the Competent Authorities?
