Steptoe energy partner Marc Spitzer, a former Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner (FERC), was quoted in an Inside FERC article titled " As Environmental, Landowner Advocates Step Up Their Game, FERC In the Crosshairs." The article, published on March 16, discusses FERC’s new and uncomfortable position of being the focus of grassroots environmental groups' bent on ending fossil fuel use through escalating tactics of protest and civil disobedience.
Mr. Spitzer says, “Having people come down to a technical conference and read a diatribe, other than being irritating, I’m not sure what the purpose is.” He adds, “The remedy is to elect candidates that hold that position or to go to Congress and enact legislation making it criminal to produce natural gas. . . . I don’t think that’s the majority view.”
